About Me

Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Michelle and I'm a first year studying at the University of California, Irvine. I'm majoring in social policy and public service and my life's goal is to do good in the world. I like to cook/eat, event plan/host parties, and take pictures of my friends/people. When I'm not out and about, I like to have intellectual discussions about the world and other existential topics.
The purpose of my blog is to share my thoughts about empire and ruins and discuss my thoughts about events occurring today. This blog was created for my Humanities Core class as an assignment.
Topics discussed in this blog include and are not exclusive to are politics, tourism, and countries around the world. This blog also connects topics discussed in class regarding Empire and its Ruins to the real world. Examples of topics discussed in class are empire, ruins, the Social Contract, Rousseau's Discourses, Ancient Rome, borderlands, and more!

I do identify as a Democrat and liberal, thus my opinions will generally follow less conservative tones. However, they are also mainly based off of a humanitarian and utilitarian point of view.
Over the course of my life, I hope to positively affect as many people around me as I can and leave them with their lives changed for the better. I hope to become person of consequence: one who inspires others to look beyond themselves, to work for the greater good, and to dream daring dreams.
